Dr. Oz's Anti-Aging Skincare Plan

Posted by Admin on Monday, April 30, 2012

"Skin is your largest, most exposed and vulnerable organ and each person's face requires special individualized care," said Dr. Oz as he rolled out his "Anti-Aging Plan for Your Skin" on his show and website this month. He detailed a simple routine for each skin type and color. As Dr. Oz points out, "many women don't know how to properly care for their skin, nor do they realize that race and ethnicity also dictate what types of cleansers, lotions and serums are suitable to use."  And if women are uninformed... just imagine how clueless the men are!

Here is a brief look at what Dr. Oz says about each skin type and recommendations of daily regimen solutions from the doctors at AMA Skincare.

Olive Skin:

While olive skin can provide a beautiful tan, Dr. Oz warns that it is prone to sun damage and hyperpigmentation. "Since the collagen level in olive skin lies somewhere between dark and fair skin, you need to protect yourself from the entire spectrum of aging complaints," said the Dr. Oz article.

The doctors at AMA Skincare recommend using Neova Intense Brightening Complex, which is available in our online store. It is proven to rescue skin that is either suffering from or prone to hyperpigmentation, unevenness and dullness. Our doctors recommend applying one dose twice a day.

At AMA Skincare our doctors specialize in smoothing dark spots and skin tones, a common problem in those with olive to dark skin. AMA Skincare's multiple-modality laser protocols will remove spots that cannot be cured with your daily regimen. You can learn more about our treatments to remove sunspots here.

Dark Skin:

Although high in melanin, dark skin is still susceptible to damage and needs to be protected daily with sunscreen, according to Dr. Oz. He said to look for an ultra-sheer formula so that it does not appear chalky.

The doctors at AMA Skincare recommend that patients with dark skin use Neova DNA Total Repair. This product is available in our store and should be applied after your morning and evening daily cleaner. In addition, our doctors suggest the Clayton Shagal Cohly Gel, which is available in our clinic. This incredible gel will not only replace lost collagen in your body but also help stimulate future collagen creation. It also helps correct pigmentation spots in dark skin.

Ultimately sagging and wrinkling cannot be prevented with any topical regimen alone and will eventually require stronger protocols. At AMA Skincare we offer several one-of-a-kind holistic treatments that will naturally lift sagging skin with long-term results. Our unique SpectraLift will give you results you never dreamed possible. You can read several reviews from our patients here.

Fair Skin

This skin type is most susceptible to UV damaging rays and fine wrinkles. Unfortunately, this means that you are more susceptible to short term sun damage and long term collagen damage resulting in sagging and wrinkling. "Too many people with fair skin fall victim to trying to find the strongest anti-aging products, forgetting about the extreme sensitivity of their skin," according to the Dr. Oz article.

Our doctors specifically recommend the Neova Creme De La Copper. This intense moisturizing formula is infused with a copper peptide complex that will immediately relieve dry, aging skin. It holistically nourishes deep within the skin's surface to protect against damage. This product is available online and in our clinics.

AMA Skincare's Stretch Mark Reduction

Posted by Admin on Thursday, April 12, 2012

Summer is just around the corner and millions of Americans are getting ready to slip into their swimsuits, tank tops and shorts. If you are dreading the swimsuit season because of stretch marks - you are not alone. Known by physicians as striae, stretch marks are one of the most common skin problems. Dr. Mohamed L. Elsaie told Esthetic Dermatology News that stretch marks affect as many as 90 percent of all women. He said stretch marks are most common among teens, after rapid weight gain and during pregnancy. He also adds that some women are genetically pre-disposed.  Many women try to treat the white or silver lines and indentations with over-the-counter creams and potions, often with little to no success.

At AMA Skincare we understand that stretch marks can be traumatizing and frustrating. Each stretch mark is actually a unique scar with a unique internal structure and therefore requires customized treatment protocol. For this reason, AMA Skincare utilizes a comprehensive array of Electro-Magnetic Frequency devices to maximize our protocols for each patient. AMA Skincare's Dr. Alice Pien will typically use three to four different lasers per session. In addition, an assortment of non-laser modalities are used to remove stretch marks such as Collagen Induction Therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy and Physiological Regulation Medicine PRM.

"I've had stretch marks ever since puberty and they are really embarrassing," said one City Search reviewer. "After just the first laser and CIT I already saw dramatic results...Their [AMA Skincare's] services are very effective because they have a whole lot of different lasers...Their prices are very competitive and well worth it."

Watch as AMA Skincare's President and CEO Dr. Asher Milgrom explains how our clinic will magically vanish your stretch marks.

Posted by Admin on Tuesday, April 10, 2012

Do you have broken capillaries or spider veins on your cheeks or nose? It may be caused by inflammation of blood vessels under the skin, otherwise known as rosacea.

Rosacea is the most common cause of persistent redness and vascular lesions found on the cheeks and nose. Though the cause of this skin condition is not known, it is most commonly found in those with fair skin. Women are about three times more likely to experience symptoms than men. Symptoms of rosacea typically peak between the ages of 30 and 60 but signs can present themselves early in life. Children who easily blush or get flushed when stressed are especially prone to rosacea. It is not uncommon for this blushing to progress into broken capillaries and chronic and dramatic inflammation on the cheeks and nose as the patient ages.

At AMA Skincare we can completely eliminate rosacea. Our goal is to naturally remove rosacea once and for all. Using our holistic, multiple modality protocols our doctors will work with your body's own physiology and self-healing power to remove all manner of vascular lesions from simple broken capillaries to severe rosacea. Our innovative protocols employ a combination of many lasers and other physiological modalities to effectively rid you of rosacea from the inside out. AMA Skincare's exclusive treatments are customized for every patient and every particular skin condition and can cure even the most severe cases of rosacea.

Probiotics and Skincare

Posted by Admin on Monday, April 02, 2012

Americans spend over $40 billion on weight and digestive products each year. Do you think about what you are putting into your mouth? As part of your health regimen are you making sure you have healthy bacteria in your diet? Beneficial bacteria is crucial to keeping your digestive system on track. Probiotics are quickly gaining popularity to help improve overall health and specifically for the digestive tract. Probiotics can be found in nutritious foods and are also available in a pill form. The pro-life bacteria is described as living microorganisms that produce digestive benefits for the host.

But did you know probiotics can also improve your skin's health? Your skin is your bodies first protective barrier against outside toxins. Beneficial bacteria serves as a natural defense to potential unhealthy bacteria. The healthy form of bacteria also helps maintain your pH balance, which will stop your skin from becoming too oily or too dry.

In a recent article by Beauty Stat editors explain why probiotics are a crucial part of a skincare regimen. Using probiotics can reduce cell damage by up to 50 percent, according to Beauty Stat. The healthy bacteria can also boost cell renewal by up to 70 percent. In addition, Beauty Stat claims that probiotics can improve the skin's immune system, protect collagen and rehydrate your skin. Overall, experts believe probiotics can ease the aging process.

At AMA Skincare we offer several incredibly beneficial probiotic products. Our doctors not only recommend the use of these products after one of our innovative multi-laser procedures, but also for every day use to help maintain your skin's overall health. Eminence's Clear Skin Probiotic Masque is available in our online store. The daily deep-cleansing system should be applied to a damp face. You should then allow the product to sink into the skin for 5-10 minutes before rubbing it in a circular motion using a clean cloth and then thoroughly rinsing. Acidophilius is another excellent probiotic cream by Epicuren. This is only available in the clinic.
